Biography

Tristan Kathage has held the Assistant Secretary role since 2017, and has been with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts for about 18 years in its various forms. Currently Tristan heads up the Reducing Surface Transport Emissions branch. Previously, Tristan has worked in Communications Infrastructure Division, heading up the Telecommunications Market Policy branch. Tristan holds a bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University.

The Reducing Surface Transport Emissions Branch is the pre-eminent advisor to Government on decarbonising the maritime, rail, heavy vehicles and light vehicles sectors.
