Transitioning To a Digital World of Fleet

The journey that the former Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) went on from making the decision to investigate telematics to the final vehicle having telematics installed. This included what solutions are available to replace paper based logsheets and a non-flexible Lotus Notes Vehicle booking system, that would provide the dept with a system to meet its fleet requirements.

Biography

Jodi Mutton is the Senior Fleet Coordinator in the Department of Energy Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), having recently transferred over from the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) as part of the MoG in 2022. She is based in regional Victoria at the Tatura DEECA office in the Goulburn Valley, 2 hours north of Melbourne.

Her journey to becoming a Senior Fleet Coordinator, was not a traditional one. Started with paying invoices and administration support in 2001, her roles have varied until her transition to fleet in 2012. Jodi’s car knowledge was very scarce, despite being married to a qualified diesel mechanic and her experience with dealing with fleet was nil. Eleven years later, the acronyms ZEV and ICE are not foreign no longer foreign.

The fleet journey continues, with many exciting opportunities to come, transition to EVs and working better, smarter in this current climate a key focus for Jodi.
